I am currently a Senior Research Scholar at the LML, University of Cambridge, UK and tenured Full Professor of Electrical Engineering in the EERE Department at the Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech). I have taught most of the undergraduate courses in the BS in Electrical Engineering program at Oregon Tech, as well as MS & PhD courses in Signal Processing, Mathematical Methods, Computational Statistics, Biomedical Engineering (BSP), Research Methods, Intellectual Property, Patent Law, and Strategy & Innovation at several universities in the US and Europe.

My educational background includes a BS in Physics with a Minor in Mathematics; BS and MS degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering; Ing and MS degrees in Data Science & Telecommunications Engineering; and a PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering (Signal Processing & Computational Data Science). I completed the Executive Certificate Program in Management & Leadership at MIT, the Professional Certificate in Sustainability and Energy Storage at Stanford, the Negotiation & Leadership Program (Prof. Cert) at Harvard University, the MBA in International Management at the University of London, and a Professional Qualifying Law Degree at University of London with Law Revision Residencies at University of Cambridge. I have a Bar Admission to practice Patent Law (Patent Prosecution) before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and I hold the CLP (Certified Licensing Professional) and NAPP (National Association of Patent Practitioners) certification.

Over the last 10 years I have served in various university leadership roles at Oregon Tech including EE/EET Program Director, MSE Program Director, EERE Department Chair, Director of Tech Transfer, Vice President for Research, and Associate Provost (Founder of the Oregon Tech Wilsonville Campus). While these leadership service opportunities have enabled me to contribute to the university by designing and launching new academic programs, attracting external funding, and serving as the founding Vice President for the Oregon Tech Wilsonville Campus, I am still most passionate about teaching and research.

The activities I enjoy the most are being in the classroom and working with students in meaningful applied research and innovation projects. I have taught over 150 classes, received the University Faculty Achievement Award, the MBEC Best Scientific Paper Award, and the Portland Business Journal 40 under 40 Award. I have also cofounded technology-based companies including wearable embedded systems companies such as APDM Inc, invented over 20 patented products, and published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers in journals and international conferences.
