I currently serve as the Associate Provost & Vice President for Research at the Oregon Institute of Technology, where I'm also a full Professor with tenure in the EERE Department. I joined Oregon Tech during the 2004/05 academic year. Prior my current appointment, I served as the Department Chair of Electrical Engineering & Renewable Energy. Additionally, I have been associated for several years with the PhD Program in Signal Theory at ETSIT-University of Vigo (Spain, EU) and the MS/PhD program in Biomedical Engineering at Oregon Health & Science University where I have External Joint Appointments.
My educational background includes a BS in Physics with a Minor in Mathematics; BS and MS degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering; Ing and MS degrees in Telecommunications Engineering; and a PhD in Electrical Engineering. I completed the Executive Certificate Program in Management & Leadership at MIT, a Professional Certificate in Sustainability and Energy Storage at Stanford, and the MBA in International Management at the University of London. I have a Bar Admission to practice patent law before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a Registered Patent Agent and I hold the CLP (Certified Licensing Professional) and NAPP (National Association of Patent Practitioners) certifications.
